Advancing Climate Justice at ADE Green 2024
We were honored to share space and host a powerful conversation at ADE Green 2024 during the Amsterdam Dance Event, alongside an incredible panel featuring Lady Shaka, Shishani Vranck, and Chris Johnson from Shambala Festival. Together, we explored how the music industry can become a driving force for climate justice—not just by adopting sustainable practices but by reclaiming spaces, amplifying marginalised voices, and fostering truly inclusive communities.
The conversation delved into the intersections of culture, activism, and environmental justice, highlighting the vital role of storytelling and representation. It was a reminder that #ClimateJustice is about more than the environment—it’s about people, their stories, and standing together to fight for equity and sustainability.
This event would not have been possible without the collaborative spirit of Lyke Poortvliet, whose partnership in curating this session was invaluable, and the unwavering support of Julie’s Bicycle and their Creative Climate Leadership network. To everyone who joined us in the audience—thank you for your energy and engagement.
A big shoutout to Angelina Nikolayeva for capturing the moments that reflect the spirit of this event.
Let us build on this momentum and continue creating spaces for connection, resilience, and hope. Together, we can chart a path toward a future where music, culture, and justice intersect meaningfully.
